Mit meiner Reise stelle ich extreme Anforderungen an die Reifen, da mein Fahrprofil vom zügigen Fahren auf Asphalt bis hin zu anspruchsvollen Offroadstrecken reicht und für mich Fahrspaß und Zuverlässigkeit an erster Stelle stehen. Bislang habe ich Erfahrungen mit diversen Reifen aller namhafter Marken gesammelt aber nur wenige Hersteller bieten eine vollwertige Bandbreite für sämtliche Ansprüche.

Auf dieser Seite möchte ich euch die von mir verwendeten Reifen, die technischen Eigenschaften und meine ganz persönliche und subjektive Bewertung vorstellen.

During travelling with my motorcycle I have extreme demands on the tires, as my rider profile ranges from speedy riding on asphalt to demanding off-road routes, and driving pleasure and reliability are my top priorities. So far I have experience with various tires from all well-known brands, but only a few manufacturers offer a full range for all requirements.
METZELER has been producing motorcycle tires since 1892 and the company history goes hand in hand with the history of the motorcycle. From the use of new materials and the development of innovative profile designs to the introduction of advanced rubber compounds, the German brand is always at the forefront of technical development and has been a partner of „Valle on Tour - Around the World“. since 2022.
On this page I present the tires I use, the technical properties and my very personal and subjective evaluation.

Der METZELER KAROO™ 4 ist die für mich persönlich perfekte Lösung wenn es gleichermaßen ums Fahren im Gelände und auf der Straße geht. Er ist der erste Reifen mit grobem Stollenprofil, der meinem Empfinden nach auch auf Asphalt absolut spurtreu bei hoher Schräglage und dynamischer Fahrweise bleibt. Dazu empfinde ich die Abrollgeräusche als äußerst leise. Dieses Fahrgefühl konnte ich bislang bei keinem anderen Reifen mit grobem Stollenprofil aus Asphalt feststellen. Im Gelände macht er ebenso einen hervorragenden Eindruck und hat mich selbst beim Einsatz im Schlamm und weichen Untergrund nicht im Stich gelassen. Auch der Verschleiß hält sich in Grenzen und ich konnte mit einer Laufleistung von über 8.000 km am Hinterrad einen für mich persönlich neuen Reichweitenrekord während meiner Türkei-Reise mit einem Stollereifen aufstellen.

For me personally, the METZELER KAROO™ 4 is the perfect solution when it comes to both off-road and on-road riding. It is the first tire with a knobby profile, which I feel remains absolutely true to track on asphalt even at high lean angles and with a dynamic riding style. In addition, I find the road noise to be extremely quiet. I haven't been able to experience this with any other off-road tire on asphalt. It also makes an excellent impression off-road and has not let me down even when used in mud and on soft ground. With a mileage of over 8,000 km on the rear wheel I was able to set a new range record for me personally during my trip to Turkey with an off-road tire.
